How Past World Changes Your Life
This page explains one part of the game. It is an independent copy, not the official site. The life itself starts on this language’s homepage.
What the setting is for
Past world is supposed to start at a birth year and then move forward through that era. This page is not a second copy of the world-mode overview. It is about the year and the data.
The years the engine names
The source sets the past range from 1950 through 2025, and it can draw a year or let you pick one when the data file has loaded. The lookup on this page stays off until that file is here and checked.
The year lookup is off. The engine names 1950 and 2025 as the past-year bounds, but era.js is not in this build, so this page will not calculate a historical probability or pretend today’s numbers are old ones.
The denominator has to be that year
A past draw is meant to weight places by births or population in the chosen year, not by today’s 131,932,758 births. Showing today’s share and calling it 1950 would be false, so this page does not.
Life expectancy and school also move
The engine has functions that adjust the place by year. Those adjustments are not in the current file. Today’s le, eys and ppp must not be relabeled as an older year.
History in the life
Some events are written to notice war, disease or a crisis in a year. They are still game events. They are not a complete history, and they should not be told as if every person in that year lived them.
How to read a year when it exists
A usable year would name its source, its gaps and any years that were filled in. Until era.js is loaded, there is nothing to read.
If the mode will not start
era.js is missing, so The past stops on the game’s loading message. Choose Today. That is a limit of this copy, not a reason to clear stored lives.
Past and the other settings
Future is a scenario. Past is supposed to be a year that already happened. Neither runs here yet.
Can I pick my birth year?
Not on this copy. The control needs era.js.
Will a random past year use today’s odds?
It must not. This page refuses to compute one.
Is the future the same system?
It shares the missing file. The meaning of the numbers is different.
